Another Member locked out

I have received an email from Ted47 who is currently locked out of the forum

I have forwarded his details to mhf admin by email two days ago but as yet no response.

Its telling him that he is not an active subscriber but he is paid up until 25 March

Can someone report this post and perhaps admin will pick it up? All his details are in the email I sent to UK admin

I was also locked out today although I couldn't discover why. I have the feeling that it might have been that my sub had run out, but nothing indicated this. Anyway for the sake of being overcharged for a week or two I re-registered and am back in. It could be a lot clearer though if that was the reason.

I think they just tag it onto the back end so you should not lose out.

Hi Barry
Just seen this post and have sent Ted an Email explaining what he needs to do.

The @gmail.com address you use is not regularly monitored these days, it was set up purely to help out VS with the debacle when they stupidly cancelled all the passwords and should no longer be needed as the debacle is long gone. It is checked occasionally but please don't rely on getting a quick response as, especially if I'm away, it can go unread for weeks on end. Unfortunately there is only myself still active on the UK admin staff and I can't deal with all the member problems single handed.

If there are any other members who have problems getting onto the site their first action should be to use the automatic password reset which appears after an unsuccessful logon attempt, I'm assured that this does work OK. If that doesn't work for any reason then please use the "contact us" link at the foot of every page or send a PM to VS_Admin. If all else fails then post the problem on the forum and someone from V/S should pick it up within a few hours.

The most common reason that members can't logon is that they try to get into the site from the "old" home page. Anyone having login problems should use the login facility at:

That is a bit disturbing, or do you mean you have to oversee all the UK VS sites, we should really have a proper UK CONTACT point of some type and not have to PM or post a new thread, that would be as much use as a chocolate fire guard to a new member who knew no one's email, or to those not technically aware.

The situation since VS took over is pants, it needs to be sorted out, we very nearly lost a lot of members recently, and whilst you honestly seem give a crap VS seem to be unconcerned.

Time we had a name for you too, anything will do, it's how we work on here.

Kev

I assume that since his user name is MHFAdmin he/she is only monitoring MHF.

As you say, a username, it could be different on each site, I can't see MHF keeping anyone that busy, nothing much appears to be getting done about any problems which crop up.

Hey guys,

As mentioned above by MHFAdmin, the best way to get in contact with us is through PMs.
We check these out normally within 24 hours.

As for the loss of members, we have sent out emails to the addresses linked to current accounts, so they would be able to change their password.
Unfortunately, some members have older/throw away addresses linked to their accounts, so it's almost impossible to reach out to them.
We do receive quite a few emails via the contact us link from older members that are looking to log back in, and we deal with those as fast as we can.

Do you guys have any input on how we can get this site sprouting once again?
All of the suggestions and input we can come up with, will be appreciated.

Richard.
