Adding a campsite review

I am trying to add a review for a campsite already listed - such a straight forward task on the other camping website I have just submitted it to - here I get directed to a new listing of the site - so my submission will be rejected. A lot of work for nothing.

If I am missing the button to click to add a campsite review it wasn't for the want of looking. It needs to be more obvious.

I tried the forum for 'site changes'and was informed only moderators and administrators could post - of course this refers to the website not campsites. You would think a motorhome website would be aware of the likely confusion!

Hi Autumn

To add a review to an existing campsite entry start by accessing the campsite entry details. Once there, near the top right of the page you should see a button like this :

Or if you scroll down to near the bottom of the entry you should see:

Click on either to add your comments to the reviews of the campsite.

Hope that helps.

Not on my screen, Mike. No such buttons. The campsite I am trying to add a review to does not contain a written review, just a basic mention.

Hi Autumn

I am afraid you have me at a loss on how to help without knowing exactly what you are looking at. Can you point me to the campsite review you are looking at? What is the name of the campsite?

Maybe post a link to the page you are viewing the campsite on?

To do that, go to the campsite review and once there, copy the URL ( the web address) details that appear in the address bar of your browser, you will usually find that at the top left of the screen... it will look something like :

http ://www.motorhomefacts.com/modules.php .......etc

then paste the link into your reply.

Gotcha.... now I understand

Where you are is on the page showing the results from a search you have made ...you now need to click on the name of the campsite to see the full details of the campsite then you will be able to add your own comments as a review.

See the attached picture.

I did try that as it seemed the next likely thing to do, although not obvious. I got this message:

500 Error
It appears the website you are trying to visit is having technical difficulties or is no longer available.

Please go back and try your request again or try searching Google to find another website with what you're looking for!

Hey ho - I have posted it somewhere else.

Thanks for trying to help.

Hi Autumn

Don't give up.... you are so right ! , there must be a bug in the system.

I just retried clicking on the name of the site and got exactly the same error as you did

But then I tried clicking on the picture of the site instead and it worked perfectly every time, taking me to the full details.

So do give it one more try...just so that I know we are not going bonkers

Thanks

Mike

I did initially try clicking on the image - I think I clicked on everything - but yes, it is now working and I am getting the page with the 'Write A Review' button.

I shall submit my review, as it was a very nice campsite, but next time I will have forgotten the procedure. It needs to be more clear. Searching for the campsite was also a pain - I clicked on the county, got the map with the number of campsites in a given area, zoomed in and they all disappeared; clicked on the number and they all disappeared again. A frustrating search tool.

Brilliant ..we got there in the end.

and I agree the campsite database needs to be made much more "user friendly" . I know that Nuke tried to make it better a while back but the changes to the map and the search have not worked out well....maybe the new guys will be able to get it put right
