99 ducato heater motor

THE HEATER MOTOR ON MY 99 DUCATO WILL ON LY WORK ON HIGH SPEED NO 4 ANY IDEAS PLEASE

Its a common fault, its the resistor which cuts down the current that has failed i cant remember whether its on the switch or the side of the blower,some one will be along to tell you soon.

Hi There,

I think the resistor pack it is on the heater casing behing the LHS lower dash panel... from memory... I'm sure i've seen it there on my 99 Boxer.
You can probably see it looking up from footwell.

Hi, yes its the resistor pack located on the blower unit, there 4 wires going to it for identification, and there's a diode which goes (i just short it out) the resistor pack gets hot and is cooled by the fan, the fan motor is sometimes the cause of the fault, the armature barings start to get tight and therefore more current is drawn, i re oil the barings and check the fan runs freely... and all should be better.. regards Clive
