Hi. I have an Ducato 91 1.9 TDI with mechanical problem.

The motor run but rough idle, bad smell from exhaustio och mechanical, sharp, knocking noise from engineblock when accelerating.

have checked many thing without succes.

I want to check if the timing belt maybe "jumped a tooth". If the crank and camshaft isnt synchronized maybe it can cause these problems.

I looked for mark on belt, pulley but dont se any.

Anyone have a guide with pictures how to check synchronization?

There is no way of simply verifying the timing position, other than carrying out the procedure used when replacing the belt, which involves the correct tools and knowledge.
The tools are easily obtained, many adverts on eBay and such and the necessary information for your engine can be found with an in depth search of the internet.
