Radiator support cross member

Has anyone replaced one? It has the towing eye as an integral part of it and obviously needs to be very secure. Any pointers appreciated

I have a Dethleffs Globetrotter on a 2004 plated Fiat Ducato 2L diesel base vehicle

How´s my driving? Call 0800..........AAAAARRGH!!

Yes Comm.
I replaced my old and rusty 2000 cross member when the MOT man poked a hole in it.
Found one at a breakers off a damaged Ducato van for 20 and did it myself over a couple of days. Quite easy if you can just run the van up on ramps.

Ray.

Thanks Ted. That looks different to mine and he presumably removed the radiator which I didn't.
I think I must have looked online and maybe YouTube and the only concern I had was for the chassis to deform when the old crossmember was removed and then possibly difficulty in replacing the original bolts again.

I know that 02 plus is the next generation but don't know if 2.0Ltr and 2.3Ltr are the same cross member?
The Ducato forum will know...https://www.fiatforum.com/ducato/

I had one replaced in 2017 by a local mechanic. I don't think that the radiator was removed.

I got the part from here:

https://coastalmotorhomes.co.uk/body...s-members.html

Mine was for a Peugeot Boxer(53) and cost 62.54p (2017). The service was excellent and the part was delivered to my home within 24 hours.

Thanks iansmithofotley. I've just taken delivery of the two upper brackets from Coastal motorhomes and I've found a local supplier of the cross member for 60. I think the brackets will be done next week and I'll tackle the cross member after we come back from our next trip before the bus goes for the MOT

Wow, not an uncommon problem if this recent FB post is anything to go by.

Must have a look at mine.

It's well publicised on the Ducato forum although white vans are often scrap before they reach the usual motorhome age!
