Warning lights faulty?

Our 2.3 diesel Globecar campscout appears to have a difficult to fix fault.

It has been at our usual local non fiat garage for two weeks.

It went in for service and first mot including changing fan belt and fuel pump.

When we left Spain last November there was a warning light and alarm for initially an unfastened seatbelt and a faulty passenger airbag.

After stopping and restarting the seatbelt light went out but the airbag light stayed on.

On consulting the manual we managed to stop the beeping as a drive to Santander with it beeping would have been awful.

The garage gas tried to sort out the fault checking fuses and seatbelt tensioners.

They are now going to send van to a fiat dealer to try to sort it.

Apparently the other warning symbols are lit in the background.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Enjoying our motorhome travels in UK and Europe looking forward to our new van a Globemaster campscout

We had a problem with our 2013 Fiat based motorhome. Some of the warning lights lit up, some bright, some dim, there was a fault with the instrument panel which was replaced by Fiat.

Hope this helps.

My 2016 Fiat had the seatbelt warning light glowing faintly in January of this year. The dealer (who have an excellent reputation and live up to it) put a new instrument cluster in about three weeks ago. Two weeks ago I had an airbag warning light and message on the panel, (For about 10 secs), I have recorded this with the dealer and will monitor it over the next period.

When I was having the panel replaced, which only takes about an hour, I was chatting to another customer. He knew of this issue, so it must be quite widespread. Might be worth checking the Fiat forum.

Hopefully it will give you the leverage to have it done as a warranty issue.

Common problem, requires new panel, had ours don in the Escape under Warranty, think you said fault occurred when taking it for 1st MOT, if van's first not too long ut of warranty, some people have had help from Fiat, others not. Worth a try at least.

We had the same problem with our ducato 2.8JTD in 2003.
The air bag warning light would come on and stay on for anything up to a few weeks it would then stay off for months at a time.
The fiat dealer checked it a least 4/5 times but still the fault persisted, it did not help being intermittent.

I gave up in the end and had them remove the bulb. It was the cowards way out but I'd done with airbags for many years.

Thanks everyone Graham will speak to Garage tomorrow.
Anyone have an idea of how much the timing belt, water pump. Should cost.
Just a ball park figure.
Have a horrid feeling a big bill awaits when we thought a straightforward service/ mot was on the cards.

I have a similar problem with my Fiat X250, engine management light comes on when cruise control is switched on and air con activated.

Searching reveals a common problem with Fiat instrument clusters so I am going to send my cluster to the undermentioned who specialise in repair with lifetime guarantee for £150.

In your opening post you said that you had had the fan belt and fuel pump replaced and it now sounds as though you are saying that you need the timing belt and water pump replaced as well. And this is all on a 3 year old van if I have understood your first post? If so something is seriously wrong I would have thought.
