Carglass and Autoglass are all part of the same company and have reciprocal arrangements for both French and UK insurers.

The standards of acceptable damage do differ between the UK and France so it is important to check if a repair is suggested that it would be acceptable in the UK - otherwise you could end up picking up the second bill yourself.

Good luck, I am sure it will go well - it is a task that they are used to, but do tell them to take particular care over the stalked lights n the sides - our damage is going through the roof as regards cost as they are struggling to find the correct part (2.35m width body is the key as there are also 2.20m wide body with shorter stalks.....)

Not our problem as we have written proof that they accept liability and will sort it.....

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

A late update - Carglass did turn up (much to my suprise) in fact they were early. Good job done in less than 90 mins. The new windscreen has a lifetime guarantee which can be transferred to the new owners if the van is sold.

Hi all...
After purchasing my insurance for my A class pilote galaxy 24s I made sure that my windscreen cover was unlimited.
I got a crack on the screen only to be informed Autoglass was told by my insurance that it would only cover up to £600!!!
I called my broker only to be informed that this was correct...Highway only covers up to £600.
I specifically asked for glass cover at the time of taking out the insurance..to be assured it was unlimited..I also have it in black and white on my schedule.
It has been escalated with my broker checking recordings of my conversation with the broker back in February.
How do you view this?
