MH insurance for Russia?

Has anyone got/had MH insurance that covered Russia?

I'm considering.... But my current insurance, although it covers the other Baltic States, doesn't cover me for Russia.

Get a broker to do the groundwork, they will know who to speak with.

In the past I have had excellent service from A Plan They are a national company of brokers.

Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, its in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

There are a few 'Russia' blogs no doubt Google will find more.

This one could be very useful:-

Thanks Andy n Ted. I'll investigate.

I found an old thread, on the old MHF last night! Suggested RAC for breakdown but as far as I could see they went with only 3rd party insurance into Russia. Don't think I'd be happy with that.

As you know Jean many GB based insurance companies won't touch us folk in NI, Barryd got a discount for FC members with AIB, worth contacting them as they provide all sorts of cover and will cover NI residents.

Checked the A Plan people - no. And they work with 9 out of 10 UK companies.

I'll try the AIB Terry, thanks.

Ted, I had to laugh when I read on the Comfort link you gave ".. if you do end up driving to Russia in your motorhome, we can get you as far Poland – which is an unprecedented distance for which you can travel and benefit from valid motorhome insurance.

Standard EU cover will not be valid in Belarus or Russia itself, so you will need to arrange insurance with another provider to get covered when driving in both of those countries."

CnCC, who are running the tour - their own insurers won't cover Russia but they suggested some folk had got from Sterling. Nope, only 3rd party for 400-500.

AIB - no.

I am not surprised you having difficulties - the Underwriters have probably watched some of those dashcam videos of Russian driving.

Have you watched them? If not, you should before deciding to go, insured or not.

We don't want to lose you to a vodka-ed up Russian.

Blogs I've read in the past may well have settled for third party only....my memories become fewer!

PS. Comfort obviously have a good headline writer....I didn't actually read the details!

I've found AIB very helpful, not the cheapest, but they go out of their way and are price negotiable.
