Gaslow in Redditch / Birmingham area....
 

Any recommendations for a fitter / technician who can service / diagnose a problem with our Gaslow system in the Redditch / Birmingham area?

Just recently, I have found it very difficult to fill our tanks as the pump keeps cutting out as if the tank is full - when I know it is not. When the trigger is pulled, I am lucky to get a quid or two's worth in before having to give up.

Got me completely stumped as to what is wrong. And, yes, the valve is open!

Go to Gaslow (Head Office) itself sonewhere near Derby. (Loughborough??) Cant look up exact address as I'm on my phone and my mifi's run out of gas. Excellent support and never charged a cent.

Shouldn't the valve be closed when you refill?

I did read that, unlike diesel or petrol, you should accept the 'full' signal from the pump - if you keep going, you'll be forcing it past the 80% fill which is dangerous.

Hi Jean - Yes, the valve to the habitation system is closed when filling but there is another valve on the top of our tank that we shut off after filling up which is on the inlet side.

As for accepting the full signal from the pump, it is a little more problematic than that. We tried to fill the tank after spending two weeks in the van cooking and heating on the gas so I know we used a fair bit, but the pump kept cutting out after only a few seconds of trying to fill. No way was the tank filled that quickly!

Definitely need to get it to someone who can take a proper look.............
