Croatia Sept 2015 - report

We went to Istria for most of September, mostly staying at campsites, ranging from the HUGE 2000+ pitches to our favourite, only 4 pitches, and a couple of naturist sites, which we found were the most relaxing.

We have in the past been much more adventurous - Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia etc, but our family circumstanes required the ability to get home quickish if necessary (it wasn't)

have posted a blog of the trip, rearranged to be in the right order, listing sites used and their GPS co-ords, and photos (NOT of the naturist sites - sorry!) and rough maps of the route

A fascinating, superbly photographed blog, and I've bookmarked it for a later trip.

For me it has just the right amount of text, and adding stopover co-ordinates together with a running mileages is really helpful.

Bagshanty, what is your opinion on safety for solo female motorhomers in Croatia?

I would say Croatia is a very safe country. It might be advisable not to wild camp, but I'd feel a lot safer there than in the UK. English is widely spoken, campsites are plentiful, roads are (mostly) pretty good

In fact, wherever we've been, before we got there we were worried about safety, and then found it was safer than UK. We have wild camped in most countries, and never had a problem - Romania, Macedonia, Bosnia, Albania, Turkey.......Only country we haven't is the UK!
