Thanks for the tips Viv.

All booked as of today! Belfast-Liverpool then Harwich-Hook of Holland. Haven't been on either boat before so that will be an experience. Both day sailings with no cabin.

Oh yes another one. Day ferry arriving at 5 30pm- ish?? If you're planning to stay at a "manned site" be aware that closing time us 7pm in Holland when they lock the gates, no late entry. Traffic can be busy-busy at that time with slow exit from Hoek. Been caught myself. So know where you're staying that night. What dates are you travelling Jean?

Fri 17th Apr Viv. Yes, the 1 that gets in about 5.30pm. I've not done any investigation at all on the other side, but I will! Thanks for the heads up.

I've had a look on Park4night and there are several places marked right at the ferry terminal - well, within a couple of km. I imagine it would be easier driving from the port on the Saturday morning. After a full day on the ferry I don't think I'll feel much like driving anyway.

Yes if it was me, I'd go along to Q. Emma Blvd aire. Its <1km from Stena embarkation station. Should be empty-ish once everyone goes to catch the return night ferry. You can watch the ferry sail out at 8.30 ish It's right on the waterside, green common/lawn/parkland all around, with houses further back from the water. Seemed to be well-used with vans coming in for the morning ferry too. I investigated others at the time, but on arrival settled for this one. One couldnt be found, and another was a bit overquiet, another charged.
