Total stop on MH refuelling

Announcement made that TOTAL are stopping MH refuelling their LPG this year.

This announcement was made on a FarceBook group associated with “Search for Sites”, but I use neither so can only pass on and suggest others may be able to clarify.

Shame, as Gaslow et al are very popular in France now, so new refuelling sources will be needed, probably due to the low value of the business with each MH probably only spending 15€ at a time…….

How are they going to stop us? Or is it the old 'don't open up the locker to fill' argument?

Dave I think you could have headlined that a little more differently.
For me, how it reads is that France will not allow motorhomes to refuel.
Perhaps if it was more clear that the company Total were not allowing GPL refills it would be less of an initial shock to members.

It made you read the thread

I’d say that is a successful title, unlike headlines such as “£450 million a week for the NHS”
my title was the Total truth….

besides I never mentioned France in the title……

I'm heading for a Total GPL station in Vierzon in the next couple of days. MyLPG.eu says it was last used today! We shall see.

I genuinely hope that I am wrong, but apparently it was pronounced after a MH fire while refuelling GPL.

I have NOT found any “official” announcement or date other than “this year” on a FarceBook page.

The one in Vierzon is still serving GPL. Bit awkward as I had to turn around to get the other side closer.

Over here the garages run as a franchise seem to be continuing to supply it. The one we visit in Thetford is off the main through routes and, I think, likes to attract as many customers as possible to the on site shop. We certainly spent some money in the shop because of the small amount it took to fill our tank.

I have just got back from Normandy and the Loire and topped up twice to fill. Both stations used the credit card system so not sure how they could stop you if you did it when no one there in the kiosk if there is one or a weekend.
