Campsites near Nice

We are travelling around Europe in our motor home and are heading to Nice on Wednesday. We would really appreciate some recommendations on a nice campsite to stay. We’ve been through Italy and a lot of the campsites have been grubby despite their websites pictures looking like paradise!! The place we’re staying just now doesn’t even have hot water to wash the dishes and the showers are disgusting!! We’re not to concerned about price but would love somewhere with nice clean facilities and decent size pitches. Hope you lovely people can help. Hans and Claire x

I use the Park4night app on the smartphone - it's showing loads of parking spots and half a dozen campsites round Nice.

There are usually a number of reviews and in my experience (I use it all the time for parking spots) the reviews are usually honest and realistic.

8.42/yr but it's been a boon to me. I know others swear by search sites (I think that's what it's called)

Is anyone else seeing Hansandclaire's apostrophe as € ™️ but no spaces?

On our recent trip to the Lakes in N. Italy I used the ACSI book and found 2 good ones near L. Lugano and L. Maggiore, and one very mediocre at Lecco on L.Como. Read between the lines in the ACSI review. If it says "the views are amazing" or words to that effect, you can be sure the ablutions are not great. Wherever possible, I pick the highest no of stars and a mention of the quality of the ablutions. If they are good, the rest will be too.

After the August peak, the standards throughout the camping network in EU decline as they wind down for winter close (don;t spend the money or have the staff, maintenance declines as does the grass on the pitches esp. if under trees.)
