France. CRIT'Air.

Hello All,

I know there is another thread on this subject but as the zones have expanded I thought it would be better to start this one.

The August 2018 edition of MMM page 17 shows two interesting letters and prompted me to look into this as we go through France quite a bit and on route to Spain.

My V5 does not show any emissions data and is a requirement to get the French Crit'Air certificate and sticker. I contacted Fiat to get a Certificate of Performance but they don't have a clue what I'm talking about. I'm currently waiting for a response from Hymer and the supplying dealer.

We are going down to Spain in September and the DVLA have already told me that a new V5 could take up to four weeks once I get the emissions data from someone!!

Has anyone done this successfully?

All I did was apply on line with a pdf of the V5c. I assume they knew the emission standard i.e. euro 6 from the date of first registration. In any event I got the number 2 sticker within a week.

I just filled in all that I could on the on-line form and let them decide from the copy of the V5 document that needed to also be sent. From what I read elsewhere they work on the date of registration and what the euro rating is (although I think it's more on the date of registration actually). They are really quick to respond (usually within a day or two) with the emailed receipt for payment including a copy of the sticker they will send you.
Somehow our address managed to be shown as UKRAINE in the country section but it still got here ok, so someone used their loaf

Fortunately for MH owners, otherwise when new they would fall within the emission based VED systems and attract the luxury car tax applicable at a cost of over £40,000.
Fiat do not know the emissions as it a cab only supply, it is not tested as a complete vehicle.

I applied with a really crappy photo of my V5 and was amazed when they accepted it! They would have struggled to read anything on the V5 tbh...

Thanks for all your posts and advice.
I've applied for the certificate and Crit'Air sticker and have already received a receipt by email. I just used "Euro 5" engine in the required box and attached a copy of my V5.

Thanks,
Al.

I was interested to see that some Autoroutes are now part of it in particular the A7 as it heads towards Marseille, its a huge region that is now affected.
