Route des vins d'Alsace

Soon be off to France can't wait .
The plan so far is to stop off at Ypres for a couple of days to do the sights then work our way down to the Alsace region and the Route des vins . Not quite worked out where would be worthwhile stopping at to break up the trip en route to Colmar , any thoughts ?

Ribeauville is a very interesting little medieval old town with a couple of large vintners. It has an aire and municipal campsite.
