Fiat Rapido Towbar

Hi everyone
I am in shock...
Just asked my Motorhome supplier (bought new last year) to price up for a new towbar fitting to my Rapido 7096F

They have quoted me £4800 for the parts without fitting and estimated another £1000 for fitting.

I am in shock. They say I need to fit the Fiat Rapido towbar. Can anyone either confirm or refute this. It seems very unusual that I must stick to Rapido only parts for a towbar, anyone got any experience of having towbar fitted to a Rapido 7096F?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Kind Regards

Last time we had a tow bar fitted in UK, a mobile man came and fitted a Witter on my drive for half what Citroen wanted.
Check out other recommended fitters and maybe even Quick-Fit.

Tow bars are now required to be "Type Approved" by the vehicle manufacturer and has been a problem as most MH converters do not approve any. The situation is further complexed by the chassis extension commonly used ALKO also makes no such approval...

Witter seem to have been able to sort this problem but I do not know how. When I enquired about a towbat for ours it was around £1000 - 1500 all in. The electrics make things a little more complex too I believe.....

Certainly ask someone such as TowItAll or similar specialist towbar fitters for their advice. It may be that someone knows a reliable supplier/fitter in your area.

Give PWS in Poole a call. A long way from you but they'll give you an idea of pricing. They are used by the trade as well as privately and well respected I believe.
