Old Elddis Side Wall Delamination - Use of Expanding Foam

Have an old Elddis (R Reg) which is in XL condition but has at some time suffered from an ingress of water. There is none now.

The wall on one side, having dried out is not very stable. Its only an area 18" x 18". To remove and rebuild is not worth it.

Lots of RV's claim to use builders expanding foam, to strengthen it.

Anyone used this type of repair or have any other thoughts.

Thanks

Wall repair

Trouble with expanding foam is just that it expands, you may push the wall away from the outer skin. There is a product that you can inject into the wall it's the same as they use on floors, if the area is that small cut it out and repair from the inside, I have just done a hobby, by taking your time I removed the wall board, scraped the filling sealed with glue suitable for polystyrene stuck the insulation in then wall board finish off by papering over width a close match. Job done.

Never ever use expanding foam in such a small thin area, it will look like John Merricks head within 5 seconds, and delaminate a whole area of your sidewall. It is an extremely strong material. Injection of a suitable glue yes , but foam no.
